With Andrew Helme

This interactive and experiential workshop explores the many different uses of plants and other flora from within our own environment. We will look at the many diverse applications our ancestors used the plant kingdom for and apply them to our lives.

The day will involve practical exercises including making natural dyes & inks, teas, incense etc as well as some of the more demanding roles that were asked of plants. We will look at the various techniques that can be employed to extract the active ingredients and why it is important to not necessarily use the pure form of any substance. We will also explore some of the old wives tales and traditions examining how practical, useful and current they might still be.

This is NOT a specific herbal healing day but a look at the many roles plants once played in our ancestors live's and which we could also continue to use.

All materials will be provided and you will be able to take home what you've made :-)

Andrew has been a qualified horticulturist for over 30 years specialising in native, unusual and forgotten members of the plant kingdom.
