The Choice

I am Lancelot of the Lake, Ascended Master, Lord of Order, spiritual warrior and soul mate to Guinevere – Lady Miriam – and Arthur – El Morya. Mine is a story of triumph and woe, of loyalty and betrayal, of purpose and choices and the consequences of those choices made.

In mythology it is recorded that the Lady of the Lake became my adopted mother and raised me in her magickal kingdom before sending me to Camelot to become one of Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table there. As is the case with most myths this is not quite the case but bears a semblance of truth from which the myth has formed. I was a warrior priest, a Druid Knight raised to become Arthur’s champion and defend him and his Queen and Kingdom from all evil both of the physical and non-physical worlds. For it was known that Arthur’s true task – to unite the faiths of Christianity and Paganism – would be opposed by forces both natural and supernatural in origin. Raised then a Druid and well versed in their ways – as well as the ways of Christianity – I was taught the arts of the warrior, of the knight but dedicated ever to the goddess in her form as the Lady of the Lake, the great patroness of Avalon – the stronghold of the Priestesses of Britannia, the Druidesses who held the waning power and matriarchy over pagan Britain then. In her care and keeping and under her ever watchful eye was I raised to be her champion too and ensure that Arthur’s course remained true and strong and Arthur true to the promises that he would make to the Old Ways when he married the Earth, the goddess Sovereignty, the goddess of Britannia, through his marriage to Guinevere.

Of course unbeknownst to me, but known to practically all others – save Arthur and Guinevere – I was soul mate to both King and Queen as they were soul mate to me, a truth, it was hoped, that would ensure my loyalty to them – through my love for them – as well as ensuring that they would hear and honour my council, guidance and word. Of course soul mate relationships are in truth never quite so easy and predictable and when I was finally sent to Camelot to begin my service there I fell in love – as was predicted – to both King and Queen but in Guinevere’s case, could not separate my feelings of loyalty from my feelings of lust! The rest – as they say – is history or at the very least legend in this case, my love for Guinevere leading us both to betray Arthur’s trust, causing the inevitable downfall of Camelot and the destruction of the great plan for Britannia then, Arthur being forced to execute Guinevere for her crimes – something which I rescued her from – causing the breaking of the sacred vow that broke his alignment and allegiance with the Earth and Britannia’s Goddess Sovereignty.

The moral of my story, the lesson if you will, the mistake made which cursed me and all that it involved, and prevented me in that lifetime – irrespective of that which I did in order to redeem myself – from ascending, then came down to one single thing … a choice! I had a choice as to whether or not I would succumb to my emotions, my love, my lust or not. I had a choice as to whether I would betray my brother, my friend, my King or not. I had a choice as to whether I would honour my path, my chosen destined path and the Goddess I served who raised me or not. I had a choice and the choices that I made led in that lifetime to my doom and the doom of many others around me, as well as the doom of that which the Divine so desperately wanted to achieve through us at this time. Choices are very important, the big choices and decisions that we know quite clearly will change our lives for ever and the small, seemingly insignificant choices of our lives, that we make every day too. Choices which affect everything and everyone around us, choices some of which are easily made and some of which are incredibly hard. Choices that we know we should make and yet sometimes still do not and choices which we know once made will enrich the lives of many, transforming all.

I write then these words to you that you might see the importance and relevance of the choices that you make every day, that you might think about them a little more, that you might strive ever and always to do the right thing. The right thing which is not always easy to do, the right thing which is not always obvious or clear but the right thing which burns in the centre of your heart of knowing, the right thing which you know in your soul will help to heal the world and its people, not matter the cost to your comfort or personal well being or peace. I write these words to you that you might see that your world is made from choices, some good and some bad, choices which shape lives and make history and in some cases legends! Choices which are powerful, much more so than you might even begin to imagine or dream, choices which hold within them the potential to save the world!

This then is my gift to you, my guidance and my advice, do not find yourself in life regretting the choices that you have made but rather apply yourself and focus, do not take always the easy way out and then later fear what you have done but rather make the effort, the extra effort, to do what is truly right. For you are more powerful than you might know and it is your choices, the choices that EACH and EVERY ONE of you makes that shape your world.

In love then and in trust take these words, take this truth and go ever and always in peace.
